From Source Control to Source Junk: Why Git is Becoming an AI Dumpster Fire
I started my career in the 1990s. Back then, “version control” was just a zip file and a prayer. We moved to CVS and Subversion because we needed a single source of truth. Then we moved to Git because we needed to work at the speed of the internet. But lately, if you spend five minutes on developer subreddits or check your own GitHub Actions queue, you’ll see the cracks. We are witnessing the “Dumpster Fire” era of source control.
